Our firm, for over 15 years has participated with Habitat for Humanity constructing homes for new owners. Bruce Barkett, of our office, serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity. On February 23, 2019, the smiling faces that you see in the picture showed up as the sun rose in the east for a work day.
Habitat for Humanity provided 3 or 4 competent people on the site, with the rest of us taking direction really well, including the prospective owners of the residences. On February 23, 2019, we were somewhat surprised to see that 2 houses were to
be framed. With a lot of hard work and extreme talent, we left that day with both houses framed on the perimeter of each.
WE TAKE A FEW VERY POSITIVE ITEMS FROM THE EXPERIENCE:
- The relationship with the staff working together.
- Intermingling with the new owners and seeing their positive excitement as their home is being constructed.
- Our firm is always committed to our community and this is part of our fulfillment of this obligation to not only do quality work for our clients, but also to extend ourselves benefiting non-profits and charities such as Habitat for Humanity.
